I am a long time sufferer of gout. I always have taken Indomethacin for a cure but it recently has lost it's effectiveness. I am currently on Arthrotek that was prescribed as the next great cure. I have taken it now for 2 weeks and nothing has changed. My left toe is still killing me. I haven't had a beer, a soda any red meat or anything that supposedly triggers gout for over that 2 week period. Because of this web page I just took my first glass of baking soda. I am praying it works for me. I will write back with my results in a couple of days.
Yours in Pain.

mike, i agree..baking soda is helping me tremendously....indicon helps if i catch it early but does nothing when im having a full blown attack....i drank some baking soda solution not more than 20 min. ago as i am currently having a full blown attack.... the extreme hotness and swelling is already subsiding...i need to be more diligent w/ my regimen to get it under control...but if anyone is sceptical about b/s's effect on gout ?....just try it...you will see relief and be a believer........
