Taking them together can create dosing problems and increase the risk of side effects due to drug interactions. If the medication isn't working effectively enough, ask you doctor to increase the dosage rather than mixing NSAIDs, and supplement with another pain medication that isn't an NSAID (but not ASA).

My doc said I could take one or the other but not both.
