My mom was a life long survivor of gout. She took colchicine and alopurinol for years & they actually helped her gout, therefore, help control her pain. ...until.... a rare side effect of the 2 in combination (alopurinol & colchicine) caused her to develop aplastic anemia. My mom was a fighter, she fought many other health battles & ultimately lost her life. Aplastic Anemia is very hard on your body, pretty much completely toxic to humans. That disease set my mom up for a very weakened immune system and overall weak body and organs. Fresh cherries from the grocery store helped her the most but we are from the south so we like southern meaty foods. If u can change your diet that is the BEST & HEALTHIEST way to control gout otherwise having to take uloric or other gout medications, just be aware because with any other chemical/medication side effects are there and can happen rare or not.
In loving memory of my mom, Kay Gardner Chambers
