I used to make fun of a co-worker behind his back because he was alwasy gone due to gout. I thought he was faking it to get time off. At 42 I had my first attack in the right big toe. I thought i stubbed it or broke it, but it would go away and come back. Finally saw a doctor who put me on a purine diet and Urilic. Urilic was expensive so I switched to alapurinal. I am constantly watching what I eat and no alchohol. I exorsize now every day and have lost 30lbs. Haven't had an attack in almost a year and counting. Doc did a test on my cholesteral and uric acid to find they are both now very low. My best advise is get your diet under control and supliment with vitamins and exorsize.
