i have just had a knee operation to clean the knee out and repair cartlidge damage. everything went ok, but three days later i started with severe swelling on the big toe and foot area of the operated leg.
i went to the doctor whop diagnosed gout. blood tests taken did not detect any uric acid in the bloodstream.
i am 60 years of age, lead an active lifestyle with a balanced diet and i am not aware of any attacks of gout
in any family members. i have never had an attack of gout myself.
are you aware of any other incidents where gout has attacked the same limb following an operation within a few days ?. could the anesthetic be the cause of it ?.
previous operations have not given me a problem.
i look forward to your comments.
