Chronic sufferer since age 23 (30 years ago). Rarely would I attribute an acute attack to food I'd eaten. But, as I progressed in my accounting career, I noticed onsets corresponding to my quarter end closes. For the last 6 months, I've been in a new, very stressful job and my gout has been causing me pain as often as not. It has even found a "new" joint to attack (shoulder), where before it was happy just eating away at my toe, elbow, wrist, or knee. Toe is the worst but this shoulder comes in a close second.

Allopurinol worked for me, but at the expense of adversely affecting my mood.I like cherries, but getting them every day of the year is a problem.I wondered

TENS MACHINE work. The simple ones are $30 or so. And if anything goes wrong including dropping it they give you another. The TENS electrical stimulus
