Gout in the heel

I'm 33 and when I was 24 I got my first case of gout in my right foot big toe man it hurt i am a non drinker and don't eat allot of red meats but I am a shrimp nut so thats where I believe it came from. It would come and go twice a year I got the meds and only took them when in pain well 4 years go by and no gout I think finally rid of it at 33 I now believe I have it in my heel on top of my foot its hurt for a week now the meds are expired and the doc is three weeks out Im wondering if any one else has ever had it in their heel and what it felt like I'm trying to see if it is gout or something else boy does it feel like gout thanks to all who reply dan

For the last few years I have had intermittent, severe "wake me up and writhe in pain" from this heel 'spike' of intensity

The only thing that fixes it it to stand and stamp just my heel against the hard floor..really thump it hard, then walk around on it hard, stomping, and it goes away immediately.

I have asked the docs many times what is this..I thought maybe bone spurs..but even X-rays 2-3 time show no spurs..I was stunned whenI read this..that it can be the heel….and also the top of the foot, the tendons feel like they are outlined in fire, I envision burning red lines from top down toward the toes.
I am now on a plant based diet, no meat, so will see how long til it stops, if it does.

I am sure it is gout. Have had gout for many years and always on top of my foot or big toe. This time however it was my heel and it responded nicely to predisone which is what I use other times. I only use prednisone when needed.
