Gout in the pinky toe!

One morning very early hours I awoke to an aching baby toe! Had to get up to go to the bathroom and it hurt to walk on it. Next morning I had redness and swelling of the toe. I thought I broke it but there was no bruising. Of course I was having guests for dinner that night and couldn't cancel. So painfully I hot thru it not the swelling spread to my whole foot and ankles! The toe and a little down the side was beet red! Soaking my foot in hot water a few times seemed to work. By the third day, its better but hurts to move the toe or touch it and if I'm on my feet the whole foot swells again. Having a physical tomorrow do ill have it checked out. I thought gout was only in big toes!
