I just had my fourth gout attack. I woke up with it. The indomethicin didnt work. I went to urgent care, crystal run, and the doctor said to use colcrys that i had been given after the last attack in case it happened again. Well, i got severe stomach pain from colcrys. I phoned crystal run and asked for prednisone from this same doctor. She refused. I bypassed her and got my doctor's answer service for the pregnisone.

Long story short, i have written a letter about this doctor as well as a verbal complaint. Only pregnisone works for me now.

This doctor at crystal run just didnt care...

I eat carefully, and swim, and still get attacks. Spring is bad for me.

Okay.

I take 200 milligrams of allopurinol each day. Haven't had a flare up in over two years now or three. Same stress levels as before as far as life goes.

I admit I gave up all meat except chicken and fish.
Beef has 5 times the odds of getting a gout attack. All game meats are bad. I do eat sugar which poses little problems for me that I know of. I'm not a drinker but I do drink coffee.

There are no easy fixes here but to know what your body needs.
