son of a father that is 86 years old.

(watervliet ny)

My father is 86 years old and has gout in his leg and foot. I have been telling him for months to see a specialist such as a rheumatologist to correct this serious problem.

He has been seeing a doctor and the leg seems like its getting worse, this doctor which has know idea what to do for him. This leg drains fluids all the time and is hot to touch and so swollen two times the size of the other leg.My father is on blood thinners for his heart condition. He will not listen to me to go see a specialist.I think this is a roller coaster with no brakes and its something I can't stop. I need help, maybe a letter from you to talk my dad in going to a specialist, before its to late. tony in New York

Hi POPS

We all can be stubborn and not want to go to the doctors. All that does is prolong the inevetible, more pain and suffering!
If you won't do this for yourself, do this for Tony, your amazing son!!!

Sincerely... INGA

Son of a father....
by: Terri

Peter, who is the site owner here is an awesomely nice person. I see he emailed you. Best of luck with your father. YOu are a good son to be looking out for your father. It's very nice to hear. I'm trying to get my gout under control...it's rough. APple cider vinegar BRAGG brand...helps to keep you alkaline. it's the only vinegar that is alkaline. Your father shouldn't eat beef or breads with yeast or shellfish or drink beer or liquor. He should drink water...no sodas. Green tea helps. Good luck. Terri

For Tony's Father
by: Anonymous

My heart goes out to your father and you. Many
cases of Gout are quite similar yet can be different. I have always been convinced that Gout is a stress related issue as well as diet and whatever else that goes along with it throughout our lives things in our body change. My Gout never made
it into my big toe but would creep its way overnight into my ankles and along the perimeter of my foot
and then change sides from foot to foot. I am a 47
year old male. Colchicine and Prednisone helped the
best. But Xanax I believe made the real difference.
I can assure you that every time I taper off Xanax
the pain begins to settle in. I believe thet calming the mind allows for other important chemicals to be released therefor changing the chemistry in one self. Check it out! Pete
