stress and gout go hand and hand

I'm almost 50 and have had acute gout since I was 25. I've cut out red meat, pork, and 99.9% of the foods that bring on gout. But I've recently gone through a few bad years losing people very close to me and have had bouts at work for taking the time to spend with the people before they passed and to pay my respects when they did. Now coping with the losses and dealing with the people at work who just say get over it has brought on 5 severe gout attacks the last year and a half. I too as someone else mentioned have tried about everything to prevent and to deal with the gout. And agree, not too many things work. Sorry for going on but this has affected my life to an extreme so I'm in agreement with all that STRESS AND GOUT go hand and hand.
