I think there is something in this. I've had gout on and off, so have adapted diet significantly but recently have found that even with extreme observance ( ie no alcohol ) and v low purine diet I still suffer, there is a parallel with my ulcerative colitis- in remission for a number of years, then a flare up at the same time as the gout- all at the same time as I'm going through the most stressful time at work, probably ever!
