I've been getting gout attacks once a year since 2005 but this year I got one in my right big toe and then a month later a much worse one in my left big toe. Two years in a row I stubbed my gouty toe (Last year right, this year left) and this time I think I fractured it right after I was almost out of pain medications. You want pain that will deliver.
As far as what I do to treat it besides going to physician/emergency room is this herbal preparation that has vitamin C, folate, tart cherry juice powder, bromelain (from pineapples), quercetin, tumeric, and celery seed extract.
I tried this arnica cream stuff but doesn't seem to work.
I also take vitamin and colon cleansing supplements and colloidal silver to help the immune system out. I think if I remember correctly gout is an autoimmune disorder like rheumatoid arthritis.
